Product Information

Name:
N-Trifluoroacetyladriamycinol
Description:

N-Trifluoroacetyladriamycinol is an analog of adriamycin. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of leukemia cells in tissue culture and to have clinical use for the treatment of cancer. N-Trifluoroacetyladriamycinol binds to adenosine receptors and inhibits their ability to bind with adenosine, an important neurotransmitter in the central nervous system that controls a number of biological processes. This binding prevents the activation of G proteins by adenosine, which causes a number of adverse effects including paralysis, respiratory arrest, and heart attack. N-Trifluoroacetyladriamycinol has also been shown to be effective against bile samples from Sprague-Dawley rats infected with mosquitoes.
