2,3,6-Trifluorobenzyl alcohol is a fluorophenol. It is an intermediate in the synthesis of 2,4-dichlorodiphenyl ether and other chemicals. The molecular ion peak of 2,3,6-trifluorobenzyl alcohol shows two peaks at m/z = 182.09 and m/z = 194.09. These peaks are due to the presence of two different types of chemical ions that have been generated by electron ionization and chemical ionization mass spectrometry (EI-CI) as shown in Figure 1 below.

2,3,6-Trifluorobenzyl alcohol has been used as a reagent for the synthesis of adducts with phenols such as benzyl alcohol.
