2-(Trifluoromethyl)Piperazine (2-TFMP) is a metabolite that is produced by the liver as a result of the metabolism of serotonin. 2-TFMP has been shown to activate 5-HT1A receptors and inhibit 5-HT2A receptors. It also inhibits the binding of serotonin and dopamine to their respective receptors. 2-TFMP has been linked to the regulation of mood, appetite, sleep, and learning in rats.
