Product Information
5-(Trifluoromethyl)pyrimidine is a synthetic compound that can be used as a cytotoxic agent. It has been shown to react with amines and nucleophilic groups, such as hydroxyl, amino, and thiol groups. 5-(Trifluoromethyl)pyrimidine also reacts with activated carbon-hydrogen bonds and nitro groups. This chemical is not active against cancer cells in the panc-1 cell line at low concentrations but it becomes activated when heated to a temperature of 80 degrees Celsius or higher. 5-(Trifluoromethyl)pyrimidine can also be used to produce other chemicals by adding ethyl or trifluoromethyl groups.
