Tetrafluorosuccinyl Difluoride (TFSD) is a fluorinated compound that has been used as a reactive agent for the synthesis of perfluorinated and fluorinated coatings. TFSD reacts with metal surfaces to form an amorphous layer of fluorine-containing material. TFSD has a high chemical stability, making it useful for synthesizing hydrocarbons. TFSD can react with anhydrous sodium to form a carbonyl group and nitrogen atoms. It also reacts with phosphorus pentoxide to form fluorine, oxygenated compounds, and phosphorus pentachloride.
