Product Information
- Benzene, 1,2,4-trifluoro-3-nitro-
- 1,2,4-Trifluoro-3-nitrobenzene
- 2,3,6-Trifluoronitrobenzene
1,2,4-Trifluoro-3-Nitrobenzene is a colorless liquid that is soluble in water and has a pungent odor. It can be used to extract metals from their ores by thermochemical methods. The compound is exothermic and reacts with oxygen to produce heat. 1,2,4-Trifluoro-3-Nitrobenzene has also been shown to be an electron donor for the production of hydrogen gas at high pressures. When mixed with other chemicals such as hydrogen peroxide or sulfuric acid, it undergoes an evolution reaction that produces gaseous substances (e.g., nitrous oxide).
