Product Information
Triiodo(trifluoromethyl)germane, also known as TTF, is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of perfluoroalkyls. It is made by condensation reactions between hydroxyl groups and germanium tetrabromide. This reaction can be catalyzed by copper. TTF has been used as a polymerization catalyst for the production of polymers with a variety of compositions, including polyethylene glycol and polypropylene oxide. The polymerization of TTF is initiated by UV irradiation. TTF is also used in the synthesis of iodides and triiodide ion-containing polymers.
