2,3,5,6-Tetrafluoronitrobenzene is a phenoxy compound that is synthesized by the reaction of 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoroaniline with dimethylformamide and halides. The functional groups present in this compound are fluorine, nitro and phenoxy. This compound has been studied for its use as an acceptor in styrene polymerization catalyzed by palladium. It also can be used to produce molecular ions after reacting with styrene and a base such as sodium methoxide. The product of this reaction is the nitrophenolate ion. This type of ion can be used as a constant in organic reactions.
