Description:

(S)-1,1,1-Trifluoroprop-2-ylamine is an anti-cancer agent that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It is a mimic of nitrogen and may bind to pyrimidyl, which are compounds found in enzymes involved in DNA replication and DNA repair. The drug has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in mice by blocking the production of proteins essential for cell division. (S)-1,1,1-Trifluoroprop-2-ylamine also inhibits multidrug resistance and can be used as an anti-cancer agent against tumors with multidrug resistance. This drug has also been shown to have a low toxicity profile in animal studies.
