Description:
(1,1,2,2-Tetrafluoroethoxy)benzene is a reactive substance. It is an ether with the chemical formula CHF(OCH). This compound can be prepared by reacting phenol with ethylene oxide and hydrochloric acid at temperatures of -30°C to 0°C. (1,1,2,2-Tetrafluoroethoxy)benzene reacts efficiently with alkali metals to produce metal hydroxides. It also reacts with alkali hydroxides in the presence of ethers to form alkali metal etherates.
