Description:
2,2,2-Trifluoroethoxy)acetic acid is a fatty acid that is used as a non-flexible plasticizer for cellulose acetate. It can be activated by the addition of chloride in order to produce a reactive ester. 2,2,2-Trifluoroethoxy)acetic acid has been shown to be hydrophobic and to decompose into acetic acid and hydrogen fluoride upon irradiation. This compound also has biodegradability properties.
