2-(Trifluoromethyl)Cyclopropanamine (2-TFCCPA) is a transformation product of the target product, sulfur. 2-TFCCPA is synthesized by reacting sulfur with trifluoromethyl chloride in the presence of triethylamine. The final reaction product is purified by vacuum distillation and characterized by GC/MS and NMR spectroscopy. 2-TFCCPA is a white solid that melts at 69°C, has no odor, and is soluble in water.
