Description

4,5,6,7-Tetrafluoro-1H-benzotriazole is a synthetic reagent that can be used for the synthesis of azides, amines and dicarboxylates. The reactivity of this compound is influenced by the presence of electron-donating groups such as amines or terminal alkynes. 4,5,6,7-Tetrafluoro-1H-benzotriazole reacts with chlorides to form tetrafluorobenzene derivatives in high yield. It also reacts with serine proteases to form a reactive intermediate that inhibits their activity. 4,5,6,7-Tetrafluoro-1H-benzotriazole has been used in the synthesis of azide and hydrazide derivatives and as an intermediate in the preparation of 1-(chloromethyl)-4-(bromomethyl)benzoate.
