2,3,5,6-Tetrafluoro-4-methoxypyridine is a supramolecular structure that contains fluorine in the form of a cyclopentyl group. It is a molecule with an electron donating group and an electron withdrawing group. This chemical has been shown to react with Zirconium in the presence of cyclopentyl alcohol and aziridine to form a monofluoride. The rate of this reaction increases with temperature but decreases with the addition of nucleophilic activators such as acrylonitrile or triethylamine. This reaction has an activation energy of 143 KJ/mol and the product is stable at room temperature.
