Description

4-(Trifluoromethoxy)phenylhydrazine is a synthetic chemical that has been synthesized as a potential drug for the treatment of cancer. It is able to cross cell membranes and uncouple oxidative phosphorylation. In addition, it inhibits mitochondrial electron transport. 4-(Trifluoromethoxy)phenylhydrazine has been shown to inhibit the growth of several types of cancer cells, including those that are resistant to traditional chemotherapies like cyclophosphamide and doxorubicin. This chemical also inhibits the formation of picric acid in mitochondria, which may be involved in its anticancer activity.
