Description

2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl carbonochloridate is an isomer of isooctane with a hydroxyl group. It has been used in the preparation of pharmaceutical preparations and as an analytical reagent for the determination of carbonyl compounds in urine samples. This chemical has also been used to prepare diagnostic agents for cancer and inflammatory diseases. A sample preparation method using 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl carbonochloridate can be used to obtain analyte ions from complex mixtures. The sample preparation method involves acylation reactions with amines and magnesium salt followed by chemical ionization. Chemical ionization generates both protonated molecules (M+H) and cationized molecules (M+NH) that are detected by mass spectrometry.
