Product Information
- 2-[4-(Trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-1,3-thiazole
- Thiazole, 2-[4-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenyl]-
2-[4-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenyl]-Thiazole is a synthetic compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro. It has significant inhibitory activities against cell line A549 and also inhibits the synthesis of ATP and protein synthesis. Alkylating agents such as 2-[4-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenyl]-Thiazole are used for the treatment of various types of cancer, including lung cancer. This drug is synthesized from a substituted phenylamine, which is reacted with an alkoxycarbonyl chloride in the presence of triethylamine at room temperature. The reaction yields a mixture of products in which 2-[4-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenyl]-Thiazole is one component. Sorafenib, an inhibitor of angiogenesis, was synthesized using similar techniques.
