Product Information
- Terbium(III) trifluoromethanesulphonate
- Terbium(3+) Tris(Trifluoromethanesulfonate)
Terbium trifluoromethanesulfonate (TTF) is a coordination compound that is used in organic synthesis. It is used as an acylation agent, and has been shown to be effective for the synthesis of some substituted phenols. TTF reacts with nitrates to form nitrate complexes, which are soluble in organic solvents. The reaction rate increases with increasing temperature and concentration of TTF. The reaction rate also depends on the type of anion present in the solution, with the highest rates being observed for nitrate and tetrafluoroborate anions. This ligand can also be used as a catalyst for hydrosilylation reactions. Terbium trifluoromethanesulfonate catalyzes crosslinking reactions which are often difficult to achieve in organic chemistry.
