Product Information

Name:
Trimethylphosphonium Tetrafluoroborate
Synonyms:
  • Trimethylphosphoniumtetrafluoroborate,99%
Description:

Trimethylphosphonium Tetrafluoroborate is a fluorinating agent that reacts with chlorine, fluorine, and inorganic acids to form salts of phosphonium. It is used as an oxidizing agent for organic compounds. Trimethylphosphonium Tetrafluoroborate can be activated at temperatures ranging from 0°C to 100°C, and is soluble in organic solvents such as ethers. This compound is used to produce carboxylates by reacting with aqueous solutions of strong mineral acids or carboxylic acid chlorides. Trimethylphosphonium Tetrafluoroborate reacts with the chlorine atom in pyridine compounds to form the corresponding phosphonium salt.
