Product Information
6-(Trifluoromethoxy)-1,3-benzothiazole is a chemical compound that is not naturally occurring. It has been reported to have antidepressant effects in animals and humans, which may be due to its ability to increase dopamine concentrations in the brain. 6-(Trifluoromethoxy)-1,3-benzothiazole is metabolized by activated neurons in the caudate nucleus and nucleus accumbens. This compound also increases gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) levels in the brain. 6-(Trifluoromethoxy)-1,3-benzothiazole has been shown to inhibit corticostriatal synaptic transmission and induce morphological changes in rat thalamic neurons. These changes are mediated by GABAergic neurotransmission and may be related to nerve cell diseases such as Parkinson's disease or Alzheimer's disease.
