2,2,2-Trifluoro-1-(4-morpholinyl)ethanone (TFE) is an organic compound that belongs to the group of trifluoromethyl compounds. It is a colorless liquid with a viscosity of 0.056 mm2/s at 20 °C. TFE has been shown to be effective in the treatment of inflammatory diseases and hypertension. TFE inhibits prostaglandin synthesis by blocking the enzyme cyclooxygenase and causing vasodilation. TFE also has antihypertensive activity by inhibiting angiotensin-converting enzyme, which converts angiotensin I into angiotensin II, leading to vasoconstriction and an increase in blood pressure.
