5-[3-(Trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2H-tetrazole is an inorganic acid that has been used as a polymerization inhibitor. It is also used to inhibit the formation of metal sulfides, selenium compounds, and cyanides. This product can be used in the production of polycarboxylic acids and 3-mercaptopropionic acid. 5-[3-(Trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2H-tetrazole has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the viscosity of organic solvents and human urine. It is also used as a chloride scavenger for sodium carbonate or sulfamic acid.
