Description:
2,2,2-Trifluoro-1-(1H-pyrazol-4-yl)ethanone (TFYPE) is a selective ligand for the gaba receptor. TFYPE binds to the gaba receptor with high affinity and has been used as a probe for studying its pharmacology. The photoaffinity labeling of this compound has been used to study the interactions between the gaba receptor and other neurotransmitter receptors. TFYPE is also a good organic synthesis reagent and can be used in lithiation reactions. TFYPE also exhibits specific activity when iodinated with tritium.
