Description:

4-(Trifluoromethyl)-1,3-benzothiazol-2-amine is a heterocyclic compound that can be synthesized in three steps from commercially available starting materials. The first step of this synthesis is the diazotization of 4-trifluoromethylaniline with sodium nitrite in water and hydrochloric acid to produce the corresponding diazonium salt. This salt is then coupled with phenylacetic acid in the presence of sodium ethoxide to form 4-(trifluoromethyl)benzothiazole. Finally, this product is reacted with methyl bromoacetate in refluxing ethanol to produce 4-(trifluoromethyl)-1,3-benzothiazol-2-amine. The molecular weight of 4-(trifluoromethyl)-1,3-benzothiazol-2-amine is 190.18
