Triphenylsulfonium Trifluoromethanesulfonate (TPSF) is an organic compound that is sensitive to radiation. It reacts with hydroxyl groups and alcohols, forming a reactive ester linkages. The TPSF molecule has two phenyl rings and a trifluoromethanesulfonyl group. It can be used in analytical methods to determine the presence of both redox potentials and alcohol residues in a sample. TPSF has been shown to react with nitrogen atoms, forming polymerized nitrosamines that are used as photoresists in lithography.
