Description

1-[4-(Trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2-Pyrrolidinone is an antagonist of the 5-HT1D receptor. It is a potent and selective antagonist of the 5-HT1D receptor with a Kd of 2.6 nM at the 5-HT1D receptor, 1,000 times more potent than mianserin. This drug has shown efficacy in animal models of depression and anxiety, as well as in human clinical trials. The 1-[4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2-pyrrolidinone has been found to be useful for treating various disorders such as depression or other conditions that are responsive to treatment with serotonin agonists or antagonists.
