Description:
3,4,4,4-Tetrafluoro-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1-butene (HFC-134a) is a refrigerant with a high global warming potential. It is used as a replacement for chlorofluorocarbons and hydrochlorofluorocarbons in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. HFC-134a has been shown to have a lower flammability range than other refrigerants such as HCFC-22 or R1234yf. It also has excellent heat transfer properties, making it a suitable replacement for these older refrigerants. However, HFC-134a is highly flammable and should be used with caution when working in confined spaces or near ignition sources.
