Product Information
Tetrafluoro-4-(2,4,6-trimethylphenylazo)-pyridine (TFAP) is a diazonium salt that is used to synthesize perfluorinated compounds. TFAP reacts with amines to form N-substituted amides and with aromatic compounds to form nitroso derivatives. It can also react with fluoride ions and sodium nitrite in the presence of propionic acid or hydrofluoric acid to form fluorinated azo compounds. These reactions are enhanced by the addition of anhydrous activated carbon.
