Product Information
- 1-Propanesulfonic Acid, 2,2,3,3-Tetrafluoro-, Trifluoromethyl Ester
Tetrafluoropropyl trifluoromethanesulfonate is a nitrogen-containing compound that is used as a precursor to various organic compounds. It can be produced by the reaction of methanesulfonic anhydride with sodium hydroxide or phenyl trifluoromethanesulfonate with potassium hydroxide. Tetrafluoropropyl trifluoromethanesulfonate can also be synthesized from the reaction of methyl methanesulfonate and sodium hydroxide. The synthesis of tetrafluoropropyl trifluoromethanesulfonate is typically accomplished by reacting isopropanol with hydrogen fluoride and sulfuric acid, which produces hydrogen fluoride, water, and tetrafluoroethane. Tetrafluoroethane then reacts with methanesulfonic anhydride in the presence of a base (e.g., potassium hydroxide) to produce tetraflu
