Description:
Trifluoro[(4-methoxyphenyl)methyl]borate potassium is a photocatalyst that can be used to oxidize benzaldehydes. It is activated by UV irradiation and produces molecular oxygen as the oxidant, which then reacts with the substrate. The reaction yields benzylic alcohols, which are oxidized to aldehydes and carboxylic acids. Trifluoro[(4-methoxyphenyl)methyl]borate potassium can be used for aerobic oxidation reactions such as the conversion of cyclohexene oxide to cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone.
