Description:
1,1,1-Trifluoro-3-(9-sulfanyl)propan-2-one is a solubilized analogue of the active site serine protease inhibitor organometal compound 1,1,1-trifluoro-3-(9-sulfanyl)propane. It has been shown to inhibit nerve tissue damage in rat brains. This analog was prepared by evaporation of the solvent and it shows low toxicity in mammalian systems. The biochemical and molecular mechanisms of 1,1,1-trifluoro-3-(9-sulfanyl)propan-2-one are not yet known.
