4,4,4-Trifluoro-3-Oxo-Butanoic Acid Methyl Ester Radical Ion(1+) is a fluorinated organic compound that can be used as a dopant in transistors. This compound has been shown to be a strong acid and is hydrolyzed by hydrochloric acid to form 4,4,4-trifluoro-3-oxobutanoic acid methyl ester radical ion (1+). The fluoro groups on this compound allow it to be easily polymerized with styrene in the presence of hydroxy groups. The resulting polymer film can be patterned using carbon tetrachloride and methy alcohol to create an asymmetric synthesis.
