Product Information
2,3-Difluorostyrene is a monomer that is used in the polymerization of polystyrene. It reacts with acetone and methyl methacrylate to form polymers with high thermal stability and good mechanical properties. 2,3-Difluorostyrene can be fluorinated by reacting with hydrogen fluoride or chlorine gas to produce fluorinated derivatives. The substitution at the 2 position of the styrene ring can be carried out by reaction of 2,3-difluorostyrene with nitro or hydroxyl groups. Isolated yields are obtained by distillation of the crude product.
