9-Undecynoic acid is a polyol that is found in citric fruits and has been used as an ingredient of cosmetics. It has been shown to be photostable and can be used to modify the chemical structures of biomolecules. 9-Undecynoic acid has two stereoisomers, 9-undecenoic acid and 9-decenoic acid, which are both found in nature. In addition, this compound can be converted into estradiol by conjugation with estrone or 17β-estradiol. This compound is also a component of pheromones, fatty acids, and water vapor.
