Product Information
Z-Val-Trp-OMe is a tripeptide that is synthesized by the reaction of an azide and a chloroformate with an acetonitrile. The nucleophile in this reaction is the methyl ester of L-valine, which reacts with the azide to form an amide bond. This synthesis has been shown to be catalysed by carbonic acid in tobacco leaves. Z-Val-Trp-OMe can also be synthesized through a peptide synthesis with isobutyl alcohol as a solvent. This synthesis yields higher yields than other solvents due to its ability to dissolve large molecules such as proteins.
