Product Information
- Myristic acid vinyl ester
- Ethenyl Tetradecanoate
Vinyl myristate (VMA) is a monomer that is used in the production of polyvinyl chloride and other plastics. It can be stabilized by reacting with MEHQ, a formaldehyde releasing agent, to prevent polymerization. Sodium taurocholate has been shown to inhibit the activity of enzymes such as catalysis and hydroxylation. VMA also possesses inhibitory properties against ethanolamine. In addition, VMA inhibits the growth of cervical cancer cells in primary cultures by altering their cell surface properties. This compound has been shown to have acyl chains that contain a hydroxyl group and a carbonyl group, which are attached to a fatty acid and taurocholate co-transporting polypeptide.
