Description

Vinyl neodecanoate is a fatty acid with a hydroxyl group. It has been used as a cross-linking agent in the preparation of ternary mixtures. Vinyl neodecanoate reacts with p-chloro-m-xylene (p-CMX) and glycol ether to form polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The reactive nature of vinyl neodecanoate makes it suitable for use in reactive extrusion, film forming polymers, cationic polymerization, and magnetic particles. It can also be used to produce polyvinyl acetate and polyvinyl alcohol by reacting with acetic acid or hydrochloric acid respectively.
