Description:

Vapol is a nucleophilic catalyst that is used in asymmetric synthesis. It is an aziridination agent that reacts with trifluoroacetic acid, ethyl diazoacetate, and copper complex to form a nucleophilic catalyst. This reaction produces a hydroxy group on the molecule's sulfonic acid group and the carbonyl oxygens on the aromatic hydrocarbon. Vapol has been shown to be effective in converting alcohols and amines into their corresponding nitrile derivatives.
