4-Vinyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-one is an alcohol group with affinity values for allylation and trifluoroacetic acid. The vinylene group is reversibly converted to the 1,3-dioxolan-2-one group, which is an analytical method. 4-Vinyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-one has been shown to be a reversible inhibitor of dapagliflozin, which is a drug that regulates glucose levels in the blood. This compound can be used as an antioxidant and may have effects on vitamin levels in serum.
