Z-L-Valyl-L-glycine is a heptapeptide that is structurally related to the urethanes. It is synthesized by coupling two amino acids, namely L-valine and glycine, with the aid of an esterification reaction. The pentafluorophenyl ester was used as a protecting group for the carboxylic acid function in the synthesis of Z-L-Valyl-L-glycine. The solution phase sequence was obtained by combining liquid chromatography and mass spectroscopy. This organic compound has been shown to have physicochemical properties that can be characterized by yields, retention time, sequence, and mass spectroscopy data.
