Description

Xanthen-9-ylacetic acid is a potential cancer treatment that has been shown to inhibit tumorigenicity in breast cancer cell lines. This drug is a synthetic analog of the natural product xanthone, which has been shown to have chemoprotective properties. Xanthen-9-ylacetic acid inhibits the mitochondrial membrane potential and mitochondrial biogenesis, leading to apoptosis and tumor suppression.
