Description:

Zinc-copper couple is a dietary supplement that contains zinc and copper. It has been shown to have pro-inflammatory cytokine effects in rats when used over a two-week period. Zinc-copper couple also increases the levels of vitamin D3 in the blood, which may be due to its ability to suppress synthesis of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and TNF-α. Zinc-copper couple has shown protective effects against skin cancer caused by ultraviolet radiation as it can inhibit proliferation of keratinocytes, cells found in the outer layer of skin. The powder x-ray diffraction pattern for zinc-copper couple indicates that it is composed of zinc oxide (ZnO) and copper oxide (CuO). The element analysis shows that it contains approximately 44% zinc and 55% copper by weight.
