Description:
Zofenopril is a drug that belongs to the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor class. It has been shown to reduce the progression of atherosclerotic lesions in experimental animals. Zofenopril also reduces the levels of PGE2, which are inflammatory mediators, and improves blood pressure monitoring in humans. The drug is effective in reducing the size of myocardial infarcts that are induced by ligation of coronary arteries in vivo.
