Product Information
4-Methyldodecane is a monocarboxylic acid that is biosynthesized by the 4-methyl-delta12-desaturase. It has been shown to have inhibitory activities against the oxidation of lipid peroxidation products, such as prostaglandin E2 and thromboxane A2. It has also been shown to have inhibitory effects on inflammatory diseases in rats. This compound may be of interest for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, such as lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis. 4-Methyldodecane also inhibits genes expression in human hepatoma cells.
