Dimethyl pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxylate is a polyester that is synthesized by the reaction of pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid and dimethyl adipate. It has a high molecular weight and viscosity due to its large number of carboxylic groups. Dimethyl pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxylate is soluble in organic solvents such as acetone and ethanol. This compound can be used for the production of polyvalent resins with high molecular weight. Dimethyl pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxylate has been shown to react with phenolic compounds to produce polycarboxylic acids with high molecular weights.
