Product Information
- [1,1'-Biphenyl]-3-carboxylic acid, ethyl ester
Ethyl biphenyl-4-carboxylate (EBPC) is a reagent for the synthesis of aryl chlorides. It is also used in the preparation of functionalized isolates, which are important in hydroxyapatite and halide chemistry. EBPC can be reused and has been shown to have lepidoptera inhibitory effects. This compound is also known to play a role in cross-coupling reactions and phosphine ligand exchange reactions. EBPC has been shown to function as an inhibitor of verticillium wilt by inhibiting the biosynthesis of oxadiazole, which is an important plant metabolite that prevents this disease.
