N-(Cyclohexyl)succinimide is an organic compound with the formula CH(CH)NCH(NH)CO. It is a white solid that is soluble in water and alcohols. N-(Cyclohexyl)succinimide is used as a building block for the synthesis of amides, succinamides, and other nitrogen-containing heterocycles. The reaction of N-(cyclohexyl)succinimide with ethylene oxide gives the corresponding succinamide. The product can be dehydrated to give the desired amide or succinamide. This compound is also used in the preparation of acrylates and methacrylates by reacting it with acrylic acid or methacrylic acid respectively.
