Description:
2,3-Dihydro-1H-cyclopenta[a]naphthalen-1-one is a purine that has been used as a ligand in drug binding. It binds to the extrahelical site of DNA and inhibits transcription. 2,3-Dihydro-1H-cyclopenta[a]naphthalen-1-one can also be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of metallocene compounds. The molecule has been shown to have antibacterial properties and can be used to treat infections caused by aminoglycosides.
