Nudifloric Acid Methyl Ester (NFA) is a pyrimidine derivative that can be synthesized from the reaction of methoxycarbonyl chloride and pyridine. NFA has been shown to react with ester hydrolysis, giving the corresponding acid or alcohol. NFA reacts with similar compounds in a 1:1 molar ratio. The results of these reactions are analogous, but not identical to the result of reactions of the parent compound. NFA is also an isomeric compound and has two possible configurations: cis-NFA and trans-NFA. The result of this reaction is dependent on the reactivity of the compound with which it reacts.
