Description:
2-Amino-5-methoxybenzenesulfonamide is a modulator of the polymerase enzyme. It binds to the active site and inhibits the activity of the polymerase, preventing RNA synthesis and protein production. 2-Amino-5-methoxybenzenesulfonamide has been shown to be effective in treating Alzheimer's disease by inhibiting amyloid beta peptide aggregation. The compound is metabolized by CYP2D6 and CYP3A4 enzymes, which are polymorphic forms of cytochrome P450. This makes it difficult to predict how a patient will respond to treatment with 2-amino-5-methoxybenzenesulfonamide.
